Nozzle as part of sandblasting equipment
Nozzle is one part of sandblating equipment that will, no matter what you do, get replaced most often. But that does not happen because they are poorly made, the reason for it is, that nozzle is being weared most. All that media being blaster through it with high airflow does start to have effects even on most hard alloys known to men.
That is why nozzles are being primarly made from 2 compounds. Cheaper nozzles are made from ceramic compound. They wear a bit faster than more quality ones, but they do get the job done also. They are primarly designed for usage with lower pressure so they can get live a bit longer. Top quality nozzles on other hard, are made from tungsten carbide which is incredibly hard wearing metal. Tungsten carbide sandblasting nozzle is made to cope up with very high pressure and still don’t wear to much.
And one more thing about nozzle. Make sure, when you replace existing one, to install compatible air jet with it since these two parts work in conjuction. Also make sure you buy proper air jet for the nozzle and vice versa, depending which part you buy first.
